Sailors Supporting Breast Cancer
Did you know that 1 in every 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime? Breast cancer accounts for 1/3 of cancer diagnosed in women.
The day started at 6am with registration and sign in. The Survivor Walk and photo followed. The 3.1 mile run kicked off at 8am through the streets of Hunt Valley, followed by the walk. Members from Team Carol participated in both events. Registration was down 29% compared to last year, although about 30,000 rose before dawn to participate in the race.
“It was so overwhelming being surrounded by thousands of people who supported not only the cause, but each other. Though waking up early, it was all worth it knowing that we were supporting a great cause,” said sailor participant Allie Caulfield. We know Mama Carol was so proud.
